The ABCA is proud to announce for our 2023 Community Outreach Project we will be sponsoring Dania Beach Elementary and the Owen Walker, Jr. Foundation!
The Owen Walker Jr. Foundation (OWJF) is a non-profit organization built on three tiers: EMPOWER, EQUIP, and EDUCATE youths and young adults with the necessary tools for positive change. The OWJF was established in February 2009 after the untimely death of Dr. Venessa Walker’s one and only brother, Owen Walker Jr. who died due to a heart attack at the age of 22.
The Owen Walker Jr. Foundation was established in February 2009 by Owen’s family as a lasting memorial of his life. The mission of the foundation is to share Owen’s passions and dreams while sharing his desire to empower youths/young adults. To provide support, including spiritual, emotional, and physical guidance to youths/young adults. To provide scholarships and direction towards attaining life goals; with an emphasis on helping youth/young adults realize their unlimited potential. To educate and promote healthy living and prevention of heart conditions.
We have set a goal of raising $500 for the Owen Walker Jr. Foundation.

Dania Beach Elementary located in Dania Beach, Florida provides a safe and nurturing learning environment for its students and continues to be involved with many initiatives. Some accomplishments include the following:
- Received the Golden School Award for -Outstanding Volunteerism for many years
- Over $55,000 in Grants Received by School Staff in the past several years
- Free After-School Dolphin Tutoring
- Fund-raising activities to promote Autism Research
- A Host of Free Student School Clubs
- Numerous Staff & Student Multicultural Activities
Dania Beach Elementary is categorized as a Title 1 school. Title I is a federally funded program for economically disadvantaged children who reside in school attendance areas with a high concentration of children from low-income families. Since a high incidence of poverty in a school has a direct correlation with low academic student achievement, the goal of the Title I Program is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and the skills to master the Florida Standards.
The ABCA is thrilled to partner with Dania Beach Elementary in order to collect school supplies and the Owen Walker Jr. Foundation in order to raise money to fund various missions to help empower, equip, and educate youth. We need your help!
